The date for the UP Preliminary Examination Test (PET) 2023 has been declared by the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UPSSSC) in Lucknow. This is an eligibility test for future Group C openings with the UPSSSC. Eligible and interested individuals can apply online for the UP PET 2023 on the official website, upsssc.gov.in, starting May 2023. On June 2023, the UPSSSC PET Application Form is due.

PET Exam will be held by the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) for the recruitment of Group C & Other Posts. The examination will be held twice a year.

Eligibility Criteria for  UPSSSC PET Exam 

Age limit : 

Several sorts of postings are available from various departments in the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission, with differing minimum age requirements (18 years / 21 years). 

Maximum Age Limit-  

The maximum age limit in Uttar Pradesh Service would be 40 years, according to the Recruitment (Age Limit) (Tenth Amendment) Rules 2012. Candidates who have completed 18 years of minimum age by July 2023, and are under the age of 40 will be eligible to take the preliminary qualifying test. That is, he should not have been born before July 1, 1981, and he should not have been born after June 30, 2003. That is, only applicants born between June 30, 1981, and July 1, 2003, are eligible to apply.

Educational Qualification  

The Preliminary Level Examination is open to candidates who have completed high school or have a higher educational qualification. As a result, any applicants who possessed a high school diploma or equivalent or a higher academic level before the application deadline can apply for the preliminary qualifying examination 2023.

It is worth noting that, following the preliminary qualifying test, advertisements will be posted from various departments by the examination and retirement regulations of various relevant jobs, against which applicants with the required qualifications, who have taken the PET Preliminary Eligibility Test, will apply online.

The main examination/skill test will be held as needed for the shortlisted candidates based on the PET Preliminary Eligibility Test result. / Physical examination 

Important Note:  If a requisition is obtained for those posts with a compulsory qualification less than High School or its equivalent that fall within the purview of the Commission, a separate examination, skill test, or physical examination will be conducted by the Commission’s decision, the results of which will be posted on the Commission’s website in due course. The preliminary qualifying test will not be required of candidates in this category.

  • UPSSSC will hold a Preliminary Eligibility Test for all Group B and C positions in its Circle.
  • UPSSSC will disclose PET results based on Percentile.
  • The PET score will be valid for one year from the day it is published on the official website.
  • On the basis of their PET score, candidates would be invited for the Mains Exam for various jobs.
  • PET scores will be accepted for recruiting examinations that may be announced in the future.
  • UPSSSC then invites applications for groups such as 10th, 12th/ Intermediate, Graduation, Professional Courses, and Technical Courses.

UPSSSC PET Exam Pattern 2023

  • UPSSSC PET Exam 2023 will be held in a paper-based format.
  • There will be 100 questions, each worth 100 points, with a high school/intermediate level of difficulty.
  • Each incorrect answer will result in a 0.25 point deduction.
  • The examination will last two hours and twenty minutes, or 120 minutes.
